Information Skills Training courses 2010 Survey
Only one week left to take part in the Information Skills Training courses 2010 survey. YOU decide what goes on the syllabus this year! The survey is very short and will take less than 5 minutes to complete. It is available online at http://www.surveymonkey.com/s/8QX7XTK and if you want more information about the potential courses on offer please visit http://bit.ly/88gx9E. The survey closes at 5pm on Friday 15 Jan 2010.
Results of the survey will be emailed out next week to anyone who requests feedback and the new group training schedule will be published before the end of January. Seasons Greetings everyone! It's December so we're now officially allowed to get excited about Christmas and to make it seem a bit more tangible I can now inform you of the library opening hours for the christmas period; there are as follows:

New Journal!
We here at the library are pleased to announce the latest addition to our current journal stock the 'International Journal for Clinical Skills'. This exciting title which is only in it's third year offers readers a wide range of peer-reviewed articles on all aspects of clinical skills.

More free clinical e-books available now
This is one for the doctors (yes, you know who you are!) who don't have time to read through a whole book to find the information you need and don't have the energy to lug a massive hardback medical textbook to and from the library every day. Help is at hand through a free e-book trial of some major clinical titles at MD Consult. Visit http://library.qeht.googlepages.com/MDConsultE-books.pdf for a full list of the e-books on offer.

Healthcare Library Treasure Hunt...
...is now closed and we do have a winner who will be announced next week. If you didn't get a chance to enter by the due date you can still pop along to the library with your entry form and get a limited edition Healthcare Library Oyster card holder. We will give you your account PIN at the same time, which allows you to log into your library account and renew your books online or reserve books that are currently on loan. Very useful for the times you can't make it into the library!

Stop press! Springer offers free access to swine flu research
Springer Science+Business Media is offering all journal articles that deal with the H1N1 virus, or swine flu, free of charge on http://www.springerlink.com/content/?k=H1N1&sortorder=asc&v=expanded. Or the articles can be found at http://www.springerlink.com/ by using the search term "H1N1." A total of 318 scientific articles will be available to print out or download until Dec. 31, 2009. The company says that by making the articles available it hopes "to push forward scientific research on the causes, cures, and other facets of this virus."

Additional full-text resources have recently been added to the ProQuest collection available via Athens, including five major databases covering health and medical care, nursing and allied health, health management, psychology and family health.

Create your own personal database of references by importing them from online databases, saved text files or other reference management software, then write your paper and insert your references where you need them as you go. Finally, create your bibliography quickly and easily using the information from your reference database.
